Marion L. Fawcett, age 97, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday November 10, 2002 at the Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon. Marion was born May 6, 1905 in Mount Vernon to Frank and Mabel (McGibney) Morrison and had spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. She was a schoolteacher having taught in the Gambier and Mount Vernon City School systems and retired from City Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Mount Vernon after 35 years as their bookkeeper.
She was a member of the Harcourt Parrish, Church of the Holy Spirit in Gambier.
Surviving are her daughter Dolores L. Butts of Mount Vernon; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and her brother Donald Morrison. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Fawcett, a son Jack Fawcett and 2 sisters Ethel Wyant and Barbara Hough.
Services will be Thursday at 11 AM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the services. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
