Wayne B. Coldwell, age 77, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at his home.

He was a lifelong Morrow County resident, where he was born on April 19, 1923, the son of the late Alfred Brewer Coldwell and Hazel Lewis Coldwell. He was a graduate of Johnsville High School , class of 1942.

Wayne worked for thirty-two years at Westinghouse in Mansfield in addition to farming and painting homes. He was a 60-year member of the Williamsport Grange. A beloved husband and father, he will be remembered as a gentle, soft spoken man who loved his family and all children.

His wife, the former Mary Seidner, whom he married on August 31, 1946, survives along with three sons and daughters-in-law Richard & Dorylin Coldwell of Columbus, GA, Gary & Reva Coldwell of Mt. Gilead, OH, Mark & Jeanette Coldwell of Robins A.F.B., GA.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Peggy & Larry Foster of Cincinnati, OH and Nancy & David Roberts of Ft Huachuca, AZ; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers Loren Coldwell of Mt. Gilead, OH and James R. "J.R." Coldwell of Lexington, OH; and 12 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters Rosa and Gladys Coldwell and Veldren Kunkel; three brothers Donald, Francis and Albert Coldwell; and a nephew Kenneth Coldwell.

Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home, 67 N Main St. in Mt. Gilead, Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Bryn Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnsville Emergency Squad in care of the funeral home.
