Mary Elizabeth Geiger, age 79, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday May 14, 2003 at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Geiger was born September 18, 1923 in Dayton to Arthur Owen Gardner and Edith (Williams) Gardner and moved to Mount Vernon 4 ½ years ago from Dayton.
Surviving are her husband Chester L. Geiger Jr. whom she married August 25, 1943; two sons Chester L. (Cheryl) Geiger III of Homer and David M. (Kathy) Geiger of Scotts, Michigan; four grandchildren Kelly Elizabeth Geiger, Kevin Jon Geiger, Deborah Ann (Aaron) Romig and Jeffrey Michael Geiger and a great grandson Cole Romig. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother William Gardner.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Monday at 10 AM with Rev. Jack Clouston officiating. Burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
