MANSFIELD: Described as motivated and generous, Brandy Duncan was an inspiration to many. These attributes coupled with a love for music….all music… made her one of the best on-air radio personalities. Many knew her as Brandy Alexander from radio stations Z98 and Y105. For over 5 years Brandy’s voice could be heard over the radio waves here in Richland County and the surrounding area. She loved her job but more importantly was an awesome mom, grandma, daughter, and sister.

Brandal Denise “Brandy” Duncan passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009.

Born on March 13, 1970 in Mansfield she was the daughter of Dennis and Kris Weikel. Brandy attended Mansfield Senior High School and graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Criminal Justice where she proudly made the Dean’s List numerous times.

Recently, Brandy worked in Mount Gilead as Chief Bailiff and Probation Officer for Morrow County. Proud of her position as a Probation Officer she enjoyed the responsibility and gratification that her career encompassed.

From a young age, Brandy loved to travel. She made many happy memories from her trips to Niagara Falls, San Diego, Cancun, and Orlando. As a teenager she lived in Wyoming for two years where she fell in love with the Big Sky Country. Horseback riding and hiking trips filled her days in Wyoming.

Brandy had a soft spot for animals. She loved her dog Peso and two cats Ce-Ce and Chi-Chi.

A devoted mother, Brandy shared a special love with her son Daniel and two grandchildren Camron and Carter. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, laughter, and love of life. Brandy was blessed with a heart of unconditional love.

She is survived by her son and his companion Daniel Duncan and Amber Stewert both of Mifflin; two grandchildren Camron and Carter Duncan; her mother Kris Weikel of Mansfield; her father and his companion Dennis Weikel and Nora Hatcher both of Bellville; brother and sister-in-law Shawn and Lourdes Weikel of Sheridan, Wyoming; sister and brother-in-law Justine and Dave Isaman of Lexington; grandmother Doris Weikel of Mount Vernon; nephews Riley Weikel, Cody and Chance Isaman; niece Krista Isaman; special friends Michelle Macintosh and Rex Reese; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Sherman Weikel, and maternal grandparents Sullivan Caines and Kay and Ben Gorsuch.

The Duncan Family has selected compassionate cremation services. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the Duncan Family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brandy Duncan Memorial Fund and may be mailed to the funeral home, PO Box 3085, Mansfield, Ohio 44904.
