Richard C. Stalter, age 89, of 31 Crestview Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Country Club Retirement Center in Mount Vernon.

He was born on April 26, 1920 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Clyde and Mamie (Fawley) Stalter and moved to the Mount Vernon area in 2001 from Englewood, Florida. During World War Two, Richard Served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army from 1942 – 1945.

Richard retired as Assistant Sales Manager for the Buckeye Aluminum Company and had been Sales Manager for Western Stoneware Company and Vice President and Director of Public Relations for the city of Monmouth, Illinois.

He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Englewood, Florida, member of the Kiwanis Club, American Legion, Lions Club and was a 50-year member of Ebenezer Lodge #136 F & AM in Wooster, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife of over 64 years Helen (McCoy) Stalter, whom he married February 18, 1945; a grandson Richard DuMoulin of Oklahoma; and a sister Betty Hoeflich of Fredericktown; nephews Spencer Hoeflich and Clyde Hoeflich both of Fredericktown. Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Sally DuMoulin and a brother William Stalter.

There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held by the family and burial will be in Christ Lutheran Memorial Cemetery in Englewood, Florida.
