Robert Dean Letts, age 79, of Ridge Road, Fredericktown, passed away at his home on Friday, July 16, 2010.

He was born on December 10, 1930 in Mansfield to the late Charles and Mossie (Gray) Letts. He was a member of the Fredericktown First Baptist Church where he was active in the Men’s Association, was a Deacon and Usher and was also a pioneer of the Men’s Fellow Craft at the Church. Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and boating. Anything that could be done outdoors was a pleasure to him. He loved the time he spent with his family and friends. Robert was a member of the Fredericktown Lions Club and was also in the Army Reserves from 1950 to 1958.

Robert is survived by his wife, of almost 60 years, Edith “Jackie” Letts; three sons, Bob Allen Letts of Fredericktown, Mark Letts of Columbus, Michael (Joy) Letts of Fredericktown; two daughters, Cheryl Harmer of Fredericktown, Janet (Rich) Hiles of Raymore, MO; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister Eva O’Brien of Lancaster, TX.

Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother Charles Letts Jr.; and five sisters, Geneva Roseborough, Mildred Schulz, Nora Mae Hammilton, Margaret Burghard and Ruth Richard.

Friends may call on Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown from 4 - 7 PM. A graveside service in Mansfield Memorial Park Cemetery will be held at a later date.
