Frank C. Smith, age 60, of Elliot Street, Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his home. He was born on April 26, 1950 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late LeRoy Smith and Isabell (Grennell) Smith. Frank enjoyed shooting pool, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by two sons, Jason LeRoy (Hope) Smith of Newark, Charles Franklin Smith Jr. of Newark, two daughters, Stacy Marie Smith of Mount Vernon and Minette Yvonne Hess of Bladensburg, sixteen grandchildren, four brothers, Ed Smith, Gary (Pam) Smith, Jim (Ronnie) Smith and Mike Smith all of Mount Vernon, a sister, Sandy Berger of Mount Vernon, numerous nieces and nephews and good friend Yvonne David.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Smith and two brothers, Philip Smith and John Smith.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM. Rev. Dan Whisner will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
